edinburgh_castle_30The annual month-long Edinburgh Fringe Festival kicks off on August 1st with thousands of spectators and performers descending upon Scotland’s capital. Coach hire has been an increasingly popular option this year since the cost is considerably cheaper than travelling by rail or air.

Many big musical and theatre productions taking part at the festival choose to transport their whole cast up to Edinburgh via coach hire. This way the entire cast can travel together, and with the larger vehicles such as the double-decker coaches, there’s plenty of room onboard for props, costumes and luggage.

The Edinburgh Fringe is renowned as a springboard for new British comedy with all the big acts having cut their teeth at the legendary event. Many of these big name comics return for one off shows often at bigger venues; last year Ricky Gervais played at Edinburgh Castle and Joan Rivers did an extended run at The Assembly Rooms. For the best in up and coming comedy head to The Plesance Courtyard where you’ll find a jam packed schedule of the most promising and talented comedians on the U.K circuit.

During August you’re unlikely to be able to walk into a pub, night club, cafe or shop without being confronted by some form of entertainment. Performances take place from 8am until 4am with something to suit all tastes, from late night adult humour to children’s plays, musical theatre and sketch comedy, you’ll find it all in abundance at Edinburgh this August.

Coaches and minibuses are booking out fast so if you fancy a stay in Edinburgh, or if you’re performing at the event, call Coach Broker now for the best deal on coach travel.
