Coach plunges into the River Seine in Paris

The Austrian tour bus plunged into the famous Seine River in Paris

Forget the Eiffel Tower, the crowds were gathered last week in Paris to watch a luxury coach being hauled out of the famous River Seine after the vehicle accidentally fell in.

The Austrian coach had been carrying tourists to the French Capital when the driver parked the vehicle in car park, a stone’s throw from the city’s most famous landmark, the Eiffel Tower.

However it’s believed that the coach driver forgot to put the hand brake on, which resulted in disaster. With no brakes on, the coach began to roll backwards, one eyewitness said he saw the coach mount the curb, and then topple backwards, plunging into the Seine River below.

Luckily all of the passengers travelling onboard the Austrian coach had left the vehicle, no one was hurt in the incident.

A team of expert divers were called in to assess the wreckage and prepare the coach before it was hauled out of the water. Fire crews were also present to assist in pulling the coach back onto land again.

A crowd gathered to watch the spectacle with many people recording the bizarre sight on their phones and video cameras. Footage taken just after the coach fell into the river has been posted on a new site. There were a large number of holidaymakers in the tourist hotspot as the summer holidays are now in full swing.
