Cheeky monkeys cause chaos at Knowsley Safari Park

cheekymonkeysA gang of renegade baboons have taken to pilfering from visitors during visits to Knowsley Safari Park. The canny primates have devised a technique for opening rooftop luggage boxes and looting the goods inside. The intricate procedure begins with the heavier Baboons jumping up and down on the luggage container to break the lock whilst the other gang members wait close by ready to pounce upon the opened box.

At first it was thought this was a lucky strike on behalf of the baboons, a one-off occurrence. However it soon became apparent that the animals had in fact perfected their method and were unrelenting in their desire to steal. It wasn’t unusual for the monkeys to tamper with the add wing mirror or dispose of the occasional windscreen wiper, but it seems these apes have taken it to a whole new level.

Bosses at the Merseyside Park have been forced to issue the offending individuals with “Anti Social Baboon Orders” and have warned visitors to not venture into the baboon’s stronghold of their enclosure but to instead view the mischievous monkeys from the safety of the perimeter. However, with record numbers of visitors descending upon the Park with the beginning of the summer holidays, many fearless sightseers are undeterred.

General Manager of Knowsley David Ross said they have taken to reconstructing the event for visitors as a deterrent, highlighting the problems that can arise. Helpless visitors are often left to look on as the pesky primates help themselves to their belongings, as Mr Ross said “Let’s face it, no one wants to see a baboon running up a tree with their underwear.” Too true Mr Ross.

However the 140 Baboons resident at Knowsley continue to be the biggest attraction despite their crooked ways. If you’re contemplating a trip to the acclaimed Safari Park, why not hire a chauffeur driven coach and keep your belongings safely onboard? Coach trips to the Royal Welsh Show 2009 on the up

royal welshCoach travel to this year’s Royal Welsh Show in Llanelwedd near Builth Wells, is in demand. Every year the show enjoys increasing visitor numbers with last year’s total topping almost 200,000. With the weather set to hold for the event, spectators are expected to flock to the show in their droves to enjoy all the top class attractions.

This year as well as the traditional show attractions such as the renowned Welsh Cob classes, livestock and horticulture competitions and the shearing, sheep dog trails and the tug-of-war competitions, the event also welcomes some world famous acts. The Kangaroo Kid is set to perform in the main ring, as is accomplished horseman with his trick horses Jean Francois Pignon and the Black Mountain Falconry group are set to display their skills.

Younger show goers will find plenty to keep them amused after the day’s competitions with foam parties and top bands such as Goldie Lookin Chain lined up to perform at the Young People’s Village. There are several bars at the event if you’re seeking liquid refreshment, the two most popular being the Member’s Tent and The Stockmans. You’ll also find a huge range of food stands available and unique craft goods from a variety of stalls.

Coach travel has always been a popular choice for the Royal Welsh, principally due to the fact that transport links to the showground are quite basic. Many organisations and communities hire a chauffeur driven coach so as to relieve visitors of the burden of navigating the windy Welsh roads and dealing with parking and direction issues.

Most importantly, The Royal Welsh is a social event. Travelling to the show amongst all your friends adds to the occasion and allows visitors the chance to relax and enjoy the occasion to the full. In these times of economic hardship, coach hire works out much cheaper than travelling to the event by car, especially if you’re travelling long distance. If you’re attending the show this year which is set to take place between July 20th-22nd call Coach Broker now for a free quote on coach hire.

Coach Hire takes off for The Edinburgh Fringe Festival

Coach hire has been an increasingly popular option this year since the cost is considerably cheaper than travelling by rail or air.

Many big musical and theatre productions taking part at the festival choose to transport their whole cast up to Edinburgh via coach hire. Many of these big name comics return for one off shows often at bigger venues; last year Ricky Gervais played at Edinburgh Castle and Joan Rivers did an extended run at The Assembly Rooms. For the best in up and coming comedy head to The Plesance Courtyard where you’ll find a jam packed schedule of the most promising and talented comedians on the U.K circuit.
