Female bus driver held at knifepoint and robbed of 3 figure sum of cash

Minibus driver robbed by hideaway passenger

A female bus driver suffered a terrifying ordeal on Sunday night after a thief concealed himself in her vehicle, then proceeded to rob her at knifepoint.

The 43-year-old woman, who works for Station Coaches, was returning from dropping off a group of passengers in a minibus on Sunday night when the incident occurred.

The victim was said to have parked up the minibus at the coach yard, before getting into another bus to drive away. The robber was reported to have concealed himself in the front passenger side of the second vehicle and confronted the driver with a knife, forcing her to drive to a nearby car park.

Once at the car park, the thief extracted a large amount of cash, said to be a 3 figure sum, from the terrified driver whilst threatening her with a knife. Once the robber had the cash in his possession, he removed the keys from the ignition of the vehicle, and made his escape across the car park on foot.

The driver was said to have been left uninjured, but extremely shaken following her ordeal.

The police are appealing for any witnesses or those with any information regarding the attack to come forward. The robber has been described as white, aged between 29-35, medium build and approximately 5ft 10inches tall, wearing black jeans and a grey hooded top.
