Woman sustains a broken neck after London bus drags her for 500 yards
A 23-year-old fashion student and part-time model has been left with horrific injuries after she was dragged under a double-decker bus for 500 yards.
Latishia Brazier was rushed to hospital after she became trapped under the bus whilst attempting to jump onboard the vehicle in the Haymarket area of central London. Her injuries consist of punctured lungs, broken neck and fractured ribs.
It’s been reported that the student from Birmingham who studies fashion in London, was returning from a night out with friends in the early hours of the morning when the incident occurred. The model is said to have been dragged under the bus after attempting to jump onboard when the vehicle was stationary at a set of traffic lights. Friends of the student were onboard the bus and she was worried about being stranded late at night all alone.
The friends of the victim saw Ms Brazier fall under the bus and sounded the emergency alarm in attempt to make the driver stop. However the bus didn’t come to a halt until it reached the next stop.
The young woman was rushed to a central London hospital suffering extensive injuries. Ms Brazier is currently recovering in hospital after receiving skin grafts.
CCTV footage is currently being reviewed by the police and the bus driver has been suspended pending the investigation.
