Brand new minibus for kid's club in Lancashire thanks to fundraising efforts of local mechanics
When Callon Kid’s Community Club’s 15-year-old minibus was sent into Devonshire Garage for its MOT, the mechanics decided it was time the club had a new mode of transport and so started fundraising to buy a new minibus.
The mechanics started a collection at the garage encouraging customers and local businesses to contribute to the cause. The kind-hearted workers succeeded in raising £1,600 towards the cost of a new minibus for the Kid’s Club.
With the help of Unity FM Neighbourhood Management who donated £9,000 towards the minibus fund, the Callon Kid’s Community Club were able to purchase a new minibus and pay for its road tax for a year.
The chairman of the Kid’s Club is thrilled that the community has pulled together to raise the money needed for the new minibus and would like to extend his thanks to all of those who contributed to the cause.
The mechanics at the Devonshire Garage gave the new bus, which boasts heating and electric windows, unlike the old vehicle, the once over to check it was all in good working order before the Kid’s Club handed over the donated funds to pay for the new minibus.
Now the Children have a safe and reliable minibus to transport them on fun day trips over the summer holidays.
