A fire tore through the W.C area of a coach in Gloucestershire on Saturday
A coach burst into flames over the weekend whilst it was parked close to a petrol station in Gloucestershire. The driver was said to have been washing the vehicle at the time that the blaze took hold.
The vehicle was part of the fleet owned by coach hire company, Henshaw’s Executive Travel. The coach was reported to have just returned from transporting a group of passengers when the fire started.
The blaze tore through the kitchen and toilet area of the coach causing a great deal on damage. When the fire started, the coach was parked on the company’s forecourt which is situated close to a petrol station on the A424.
Two local fire crews were called to the coach fire near Bourton-on-the-hill. One of the fire fighters explained that the toilet area of the coach sustained severe damage where the fire was at its most ferocious. There was said to be a great deal of smoke surrounding this section of the coach, however the whole vehicle suffered smoke contamination.
The two fire crews spent 45 minutes bringing the fire under control. Breathing apparatuses were used by the fire fighters tackling the blaze. It is thought that the fire was triggered by an electrical fault, although the exact cause is yet to be identified.
