Coach tour driver in Taiwan rewarded for 30 years of accident free driving

A coach driver in Taiwan has been rewarded after achieving 30 years of professional driving with the Taoyuan Bus Corp without being involved in a single collision or scrape.

Shen Jin-Pin has received a reward of $3,500 from his employer after reaching the milestone of 30 years as a coach driver without a single accident on his record. The 57-year-old coach driver has received a plaque for every 5 years he’s worked as a driver without having an accident, but reaching the 30 year milestone has been quite an achievement for the Taiwanese coach driver.

The careful coach driver has been behind the wheel of tour coaches as opposed to public buses for the majority of his career. Shen Jin-Pin says the secret to his success as a coach driver is down to his focus upon safety, and also remaining calm and collected under pressure. The award winning coach driver also swears by adhering to traffic regulations to ensure he stays safe on the roads.

Despite his track record as the safest coach driver in Taiwan, Shen Jin-Pin revealed that his job isn’t always easy, as heavy traffic on the inner city roads can cause difficult driving conditions, as can driving on mountain roads, especially during floods which can cause landslides.

After collecting his reward for 30 years safe driving as a coach driver, Shen Jin-Pin says he has his sights set on picking up another award for accident free driving in 5 years time.
