Singer Susan Boyle still catches the bus

Singing sensation Susan Boyle still travels on her local bus service in West Lothian The former church volunteer turned millionaire singing sensation, Susan Boyle, proves that old habits die hard. The 48-year-old from West Lothian is refusing to give up travelling on the bus, despite having accumulated an estimated £5.5 million fortune from the sales of her debut album I Dreamed a Dream.

Friends of the Scottish singer, who shot to fame following her audition for then ITV talent show Britain’s Got Talent, are concerned about her decision to use public transport as they fear her new found fame might attract problems. Only last week Susan returned to her home in Blackburn, West Lothian where she lives alone with her cat Pebbles, to find an intruder inside.

Bus despite the best efforts of her friends who have volunteered to give her lifts wherever she needs, and the offer from her record company Syco Music to provide with a full-time chauffer, down-to-earth Susan is sticking to her guns and continuing to catch the bus.

A source close to I Dreamed a Dream singer said, “She’s got a bus pass and she likes to use it as much as possible.” It seems her main motivation for using her local bus service is the opportunity it allows to meet new people. Apparently Susan likes nothing better than to have a chat with her fellow passengers when she’s travelling on the bus.

Bus drivers in the West Lothian area better brace themselves as a VIP passenger could be jumping onboard their bus today.

As much as I admire what Susan has accomplished it’s time she realizes just what she’s gotten herself into. She needs to be aware that, or made to be aware, there are people out there who will try to take advantage of her, or that there are overly zealous fans who can do her harm.

Susan Boyle never expected, or wanted, the world wide fame that was thrust upon her. She just wanted to sing.
When she’s not working she just wants to be able to go home and have some normalcy in her life and I don’t blame her.
It’s time for the media and everyone else to give her some peace and let her live her life the way she sees fit.
